Portfolio IV
Here is some of my work remixing a song called "My Own" by Little Chicago's Finest. I really liked the song and the lyrics, but felt that a lot more could have been done with it which is why I decided to remix it.

This is the Original track. I took this and created stems that I could remix. As you can clearly hear, while the song is pretty good on it's own, it feels like it is missing something subtle somewhere, and could have a lot more "flair" added to it.
Original Stems
This is a stem of the original hook.
This is an original stem consisting of just the Drums, Bass, and Piano tracks.
This is another stem of the original containing only the drums, bass, and synths.
Remixed Stems
This is a stem that I created using only the original Kick, Clap, and Vocals. I thought it really changed the mood of the whole song and left room for lots of interpretation.
Another variation on the hook, for this stem, I decided to record something live to add to it. I decided on a medicine bottle shaker, I then duplicated the original recording, and used heavy reverb and a Mod filter on it to give it a unique sound.
Another variation introducing a groove change using drummer in Logic X.
For this variation I decided to use Rewire via Ableton and Logic to add a new drum beat.
